Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (59 ml) less-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons (24 g) brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon (7 g) fresh ginger grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon (1 g) red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 pound (454 g) chicken breasts boneless and skinless

Instructions

  • Add the first 7 ingredients to a bowl and then add the chicken. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes up to 24 hours.
  • Preheat the grill to 400° F(205°C). Grill the chicken for 5-7 minutes per side, until the internal temperature reaches 165° F(75°C).

Notes

  • For the most intense flavor, marinate the chicken overnight in the refrigerator. This allows the flavors to fully penetrate the meat.
  • Ensure your chicken is perfectly cooked by using a meat thermometer. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C) for safe consumption.
  • After grilling, let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing. This helps retain its juices and keeps the meat tender.
